4) RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS
SYLOSIV® A 4 is a highly effective moisture scavenger for such plastic and coating systems where even traces of water may create problems. Typical areas of application are two-component polyurethane systems (coatings, adhesives, sealants) and metallic pigment coatings (zinc-rich primers, aluminium paints).
Certified Quality System DIN ISO 9001 DQS Reg. No. 0924

6) HANDLING AND STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Like all other fine powdered products SYLOSIV® has a tendency to develop dust. During handling precautions should be taken against electrostatic discharges. Additional information can be found in our Safety Data Sheet. Storage in a dry warehouse is recommended. Open packages should be resealed to prevent contamination and adsorption of water or other gases and vapors. The material in bags and Bag-in-boxes should be used within 6 months from the date of production. SYLOSIV® bags are highly air/gas tight. Storage at lower or higher temperatures can lead to shrinkage or expansion of the enclosed air. This has no influence on the product properties.
7) HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
SYLOSIV® is a synthetic aluminosilicate. In active conditions, it will release heat when adsorbing water or other substances. If large quantity of SYLOSIV® quickly adsorbs water, the molecular sieve can become hot enough to cause thermal burns of the skin; contact has to be avoided under these conditions. Information to date indicates that the dust from the product is not toxic and does not cause fibrosis. The Occupational Exposure Limit in Germany is 6 mg/m3 for fine dust (MAK). Additional information can be found in our Safety Data Sheet. Please refer also to national laws and regulations.
